1940s negligee over a lace-trimmed teddy. From an OPDAG dress-a-doll issue (not available separately)

Negligee
A very feminine sort of dressing gown, often very ornate and/or seductive. Often comes with a matching nightgown.

Nightcap from Munchie Bear (not available) Nightcap
Remember when your mom said you'd be warmer with your hat on? People used to take that seriously enough to apply it even to bed. OK, so this one has holes for the bear's ears - you get the idea.
Nylon tricot nightgown, c. 1945, from Dorothy of the Gallant Forties.

Nightgown
At first a nightgown was just a shift or chemise meant as a day time undergarment but that did double duty for nightwear as well. Eventually nightgowns became garments in their own right. This one is a 1940s version in nylon tricot. It's from the 1940s, but the same or very similar style could have been fround any time from the forites on into the sixties.
